About Muse Foundry
What is Muse Foundry
Muse Foundry is a quarterly offline-only vinyl subscription label that treats music as shared knowledge and commits to the practice of Embodied Production. Each release carries a Certificate of Embodied Production, documenting the human timing, decisions, and contextual constraints preserved in the recording.

Why Offline-Only
In our online streaming economy artists know their music will be fed to algorithms. The algorithm becomes an invisible collaborator in every creative decision, subtly foreclosing possibilities before they can emerge. Muse Foundry intervenes in this process to provide space for all those songs that could have been made and all the knowledge that could have been shared. When we say offline-only, we mean artists create for human connection, not machine optimization.

Who is Behind Muse Foundry

Jeffrey Anthony spent 25 years as a touring and session musician. During this time, he landed a gig analyzing music for something called the Music Genome Project at a small startup in downtown Oakland called Savage Beast Technologies. That startup became Pandora Radio. From this unique vantage point, Jeffrey had a front row seat to music's digital transformation from both sides: in recording studios where Pro Tools turned performances into visual grids to be perfected, and in the rapid emergence of algorithmic playlists that began to shape what music could ultimately be.
While reflecting on these experiences in an article published on Medium, Jeffrey realized that for music to survive, it must exist outside the logics of the almighty algorithm - offline. In an era where over 100,000 songs are uploaded daily and 30% are AI-generated, we're a culture drowning in content yet starving for meaning.
Muse Foundry exists as a structural intervention, not a nostalgic retreat, but a deliberate act of cultural repair. By removing music from online spaces entirely, Muse Foundry creates conditions where human timing, presence, and ambiguity can survive. Where music can reclaim its place as revelatory, rather than background, and teach us again how to move through the world - together.
